What the experts say

Training in the heat

Gulf News's expert advice for exercising outside in Dubai summers is to train early in the morning or late in the evening, stay in the shade where you can, hydrate, keep your first sessions short and low intensity, and stop if you feel dizzy or nauseous.

Arab News reports summer temperatures of 40 to 50 degrees, with 51.8 degrees recorded in August 2025, and that Dubai Sports Council ran an indoor Mallathon, with malls open for walking from 7am to 10am, during the heat.

None of this is medical advice. If you have a health condition, or you are new to training, speak to your doctor before exercising in the heat.
